"Born in Baghdad.
Raised in Switzerland."

This combination is rare. It is the foundation everything else is built on.
Four places where the two worlds meet — and where someone who belongs to both makes the difference.
I grew up in Zurich. But I was born in Baghdad.
My father died when I was young. I never got to show him what I would become. It shaped everything — the urgency, the drive, the refusal to wait for the perfect moment.
For fifteen years I sat on the other side of the table. At UBS, ZKB, Migros Bank. I financed companies, structured exits, advised families with generational wealth. I was good at it — but I was building other people's visions.
In 2022, my wife Maya and I founded M'OUD — a luxury oud house, born from a journey to Dubai on our honeymoon. She is the perfumer. I am the builder. It was the first time I built something that was entirely ours.
That is when it became clear: my greatest strength is connection. Between two cultures, two markets, two ways of seeing the world. Switzerland gave me precision, structure and trust. The Arab world gave me warmth, patience and the long view. Both together make me who I am.
Today I build Wally Swiss as an independent advisory for entrepreneurs and families between the Swiss financial centre and the Gulf. M'OUD is led by my wife Maya — I advise strategically.
My three sons — the Wally Bros — watch me do it every day. They are not my motivation. They are my proof that it is possible.
